Fishtail Braid

I always see these girls with really long hair wearing fishtail braids and I said to myself "hey why don't I try this while my hair is pressed." So I did.

If you watch other youtube videos of fishtail braid tutorials, girls just section their hair in two and start braiding. It was a struggle to do this because my hair kept slipping out of my hands and unraveling. To make it easier, I put my hair in a side ponytail with an ouchless hair tie, completed the braid, and then took the hair tie off at the end.

Check it out:

Dani watched my tutorial and did the fishtail braid on her hair. It looks amazing!

Birthday Festivities

I turned 26 yesterday!!! Yay, God is good. I'm thankful to see another year. Yesterday was eventful. I was awaken by my birthday call from my Uncle Fella and Aunt Cheryl. Go Jovial it's ya birthday! I love waking up to their birthday songs. After I got ready for the day, my darling Tabitha treated me to brunch at IHOP....great food and conversation. Tabitha and Joliza always make me laugh.

Tabitha is always coming up with new words on the fly. She said my birthday present from David was SWAGGERIFIC (swagger + terrific) and proceeded to take a picture *snap*. It is a black diamond bangle. She's right, it is pretty swaggerific! Thanks David!

After brunch, Joliza treated me to a pedicure. It was so nice and relaxing. I haven't had one since my wedding so it was a nice treat. Later, the entire family went to P.F. Chang for my birthday dinner.

Shot Glass Dessert
I had a great birthday!!! Also, thanks to all the family and friends that called or left messages for me on Twitter and Facebook. Love you all!!

Progressive Party

My parent's neighborhood had a progressive party last night. For my readers that do not know what a progressive party is, it is, when a group of friends plan a meal together where each course is served at a different participant's home. Last night we had 4 homes participating so we had 4 courses - cocktails, heavy houvre d'oeuvres, main course, and dessert. My parents had heavy houvre d'eouvres and it was a hit! Our family pulled together and did a great job making the food and decorating. O and get this, my mom has not 1, not 2, but THREE christmas trees!!! Check it out!

Length Check #1

Hello Everyone,
I just wanted to stop by and do a length check. Since my big chop I have not been keeping a very good record of my growth, however, I do have a picture from December 2008. So, you will be able to see my growth over 3 years. I will do better. But first, *dramatic pause* I have got to tell you all how I got ROBBED today. The last time I had my hair done in a salon was December 29, 2010 when I got my hair flat ironed for my friend's wedding. I know I paid $65, including  a $5 tip, that time I got my hair done. Guess how much I paid today *pressure rising*....$100, which included a $5 tip. Why??? The stylist says "oooo your hair is so long...the last time you were here your hair wasn't that long." Really?!! Since when do salons charge based upon length?? My hair didn't grow but a measly 4 inches since last year. PUHLEEZ!! Oooo and guess when she told me this??? After she she blow dryed my hair...so it was no point of telling her to stop. This is why I do not go to the salon.  What really put me over the top was when I was in line to pay, a mother and daughter were in front of me. For both of them to get their hair done it was *dramatic pause* $90... are you kidding me?! Ugh my life...never again. One of these days, I will learn how to get my hair bone straight on my own without smelling like burnt hair. And yes, you've got it..I will not be working out for a good week. I am not going to sweat my hair out...that would just be throwing my money down the drain. Le sigh...check out my hair.

The process:

1. Wash
2. Deep Condition
3. Blow Dry

Blow dry/Wet Comparison
All Blow Dried

4. Flat Iron
